Composition and Tasks

The Scientific Advisory Board is composed of four to six personalities who are international renowned for their research and scientific leadership expertise in the area of climate and global change. It advises and supports the Wegener Center Management especially in the following areas:

Development of the research goals and organization of the Wegener Center as well as of its scientific-thematic positioning in the international context
Maintenance and systematic expansion of international research networking and of cooperations with other relevant research centers
Promoted exchange of researchers and international integration at all levels (PhD Students, Postdocs, Senior Professionals)
Further extension of leading and contributing participations in international research projects and programmes

The appointment and organisational guidance of the Scientific Advisory Board is done by the Wegener Center Director.
