Frühlingstreffen des Forschungsschwerpunkts Umwelt und Globaler Wandel

Mit frischen Impulsen startet der Forschungsschwerpunkt „Umwelt und Globaler Wandel“ der Uni Graz in den Frühling. Am 25. März 2014 trafen sich WissenschafterInnen verschiedenster Disziplinen zu einem Workshop im Wegener Center, um neue Kooperationsmöglichkeiten auszuloten. Im Mittelpunkt standen Informationen, Ideen und Diskussionen in den Themenfeldern „Perspektiven der Nachhaltigkeit“, moderiert von O.Univ.-Prof. Dr. Friedrich Zimmermann, „Klima, Hydrologie, Naturgefahren“, moderiert von Univ.-Prof. Dr. Oliver Sass, und „Nachhaltigkeit im ländlichen Raum“, moderiert von Dr. Thomas Brudermann. Darüber hinaus bot die Veranstaltung DissertantInnen ein Forum für den gegenseitigen Erfahrungsaustausch. „Ziel ist, uns noch stärker zu vernetzen und auch Synergien für gemeinsame Projektanträge zu nutzen“, erklärte Ao.Univ.-Prof. Dr. Karl Steininger, einer der Sprecher des Forschungsschwerpunkts.

 

Der interuniversitäre Schwerpunkt „Umwelt und Globaler Wandel“ führt am Standort Graz über 20 Forschungsgruppen aus Klima- und Umweltphysik, Meteorologie, Umweltchemie, Hydrogeologie, Umweltbiologie, Umweltökonomik und Soziologie, Geographie und Regionalforschung, Systemwissenschaften und Nachhaltigkeitsforschung, Umweltethik und Umweltrecht zusammen. Die Arbeitsgruppen sind in zahlreichen Projekten an internationaler Spitzenforschung beteiligt.
