STUDYING

Profile

The teaching at the Wegener Center covers natural scientific as well as economic aspects of climate change. Collateral departments offer supplements, such as geography, sustainability research, philosophy and law.

The Wegener Center is the only university department in Austria, which put the topics climate and climate change at the heart of the activities. Leading experts on their particular research area are responsible for our teaching. They are active in national and international research committees and the IPCC. The generally manageable number of students ensures the personal and direct contact with the teaching staff.

Our teaching deals with the classical basics, actual research and applied aspects. The teaching is integrated in various study programs mentioned below. (Further study programs that contain our teaching to a smaller extant are Global Studies or Joint Degree Sustainable Development.) Elective courses provide a possibility to compose your individual prioritization in the curricula with the focus climate research.

This study programs are preparing for non-university profession as well as for a career in climate research. Even towards final degree, you have very good chances for (salaried) master theses and dissertations within the framework of climate research projects at the Wegener Center.
