Abstract:
The initiative “ÖKS15-Klimaszenarien für Österreich” provides gridded climate data and projections for the climate research community. However quality, uncertainty and limitations are not systematically assessed. STARC-Impact addresses this knowledge gap. ÖKS15 observational and climate model data will be analysed and compared with other data, and simulations with crop models will be conducted. The project connects users and experts working with climate model or derived data, to transfer relevant knowledge, share expertise and good practices. Guidelines are developed for selecting and using ÖKS15 data properly, focusing on the limitations, uncertainties of climate projections, and their sensitivity to climate model generation and emission scenario.
