Abstract:
adapt2to4 aims to develop an evaluation and decision support framework as key accompanying measure for the Austrian national adaptation strategy. Based on a comprehensive literature and project survey we conduct a sensitivity assessment revealing possible climate change impacts as well as adaptation needs for private and public actors. By estimating key investments and recurrent expenses to increase resilience towards climate change for transport and building infrastructure, the project seeks to identify and assess the costs of adaptation needs and options at a disaggregated and economy-wide level. The decision-making process of private and public stakeholders in adaptation under uncertainty is addressed by devising a policy support framework which considers both economic and additional non-economic criteria.
