Abstract:
This project analyses the effects of the introduction of distance and time dependent car road pricing in Austria. In particular, we address the following research questions: Which technological and organizational options are available, given the legal framework for Austria? Which economic, social, transport, and ecological aims can be achieved by car road pricing? Which economic, social, transport and ecological impacts are caused by the different planning options? These questions are addressed by combining a transport demand macroeconomic model with a CGE model. A multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) helps to evaluate the different options by means of social criteria. A special focus is put on the distributional consequences of road pricing.
