Abstract:
This is a project on behalf of the OECD and the Austrian Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management. The objective is the analysis of theorectical results for decoupling economic growth and transport impacts using empirical data for Austria. Based on insights from economic geography its spatial structures in production and consumption can enhance or mitigate transport volumes. The objective of this project thus is to demonstrate exemplatory for the area of motorized individual transport how to overcome the current trend of ever growing transport volumes, in which leisure transport has a special role
