The project was concerned with the upgrade of the End-to-end Generic Occultation Performance Simulator (EGOPS) software for end-to-end treatment of Galileo signals, at equal footing with GPS signals. This included in particular the respective upgrading of the three core sub-systems (mission analysis/planning, atmospheric observable modelling, and geophysics retrieval processing) as well as preparing the observation system modeling for seamless inclusion of Galileo instrument processing (i.e., allowing Galileo receiving system simulation at in the same manner as GPS receiving system simulation).
By end of project EGOPS was capable of handling at equal footing all three GNSS systems, GPS (U.S.), Glonass (Russia), and Galileo (European, under development). The documentation to these upgrades was embedded into the EGOPS documentation of the extension project “ESA-ProdexCN1”.
