Research links

The main WEGC-internal link is via RTAC#2 on climate-hydrology change research which is shared with the Doctoral Programme (DK) Climate Change and provides the bridge to the Regional and Local Climate Modeling and Analysis (ReLoClim) research group as well as to WEGC’s joint research focus Hydrological Extremes in a Changing Climate (HydExClim). ARSCliSys and ReLoClim collaborate in studies which jointly exploit climate-hydrology observations, including WegenerNet high resolution monitoring data, and climate-hydrology modeling. In addition, the ARSCliSys group provides support from its core competences to the other WEGC groups and to WEGC partners.

The group also strongly collaborates with the Institute for Geophysics, Astrophysics, and Meteorology/Institute of Physics (IGAM/IP), WEGC’s key partner institute at the natural sciences side. It has a complementary base at IGAM/IP and cooperates via RTAC#1, RTAC#2, and the joint focus HydExClim with the Climate Processes and Environmental Meteorology (ClimEMet) research group, which is supported by WEGC and IGAM/IP and focuses on atmospheric composition changes and relations to climate change as well as on extreme events in a warming climate.

Last but not least ARSCliSys collaborates with many renowned partners at national and international level in its projects, contributes to World Climate Research Programme (WCRP) activities, and serves through senior group members on a range of international panels and boards that contribute to the framing of the international research agenda.
